The game's 10th standard set, Draconian Measures, was revealed as a stretch goal for the Prophetic Visions Gamefound campaign. The set was successfully funded through a Gamefound campaign that launched on September 18, 2025, with the set releasing in Q2 2026.
It introduces the 15th house to be added to the game, house Ouboros, along with the new Entrench keyword, allowing players to leave creatures with that keyword exhausted in exchange for some other passive benefit. A new +1 power bonus icon, as well as the overwhelmed glossary term.
Draconian Measures also introduces the first borderless full art card treatments, which could be specially purchased, or randomly assigned into a deck when printed.
House Rotation
- New: Ouboros
- Returning: Ekwidon, Geistoid, Mars, Shadows, Skyborn, Unfathomable
- Rotated Out: Dis, Logos, Sanctum/, Saurian, Star Alliance, Untamed
House Ouboros makes its debut in Draconian Measures. Ouboros is "an ancient society of powerful dragons—the only true dragons—who once dominated the entire Crucible. In a long-forgotten age, they saved the Crucible from certain destruction by an inter-dimensional force known only as the Darkness. After this triumph, the Ouboros, in their hubris, challenged the Architects for control of the cosmos. They failed, and the Architects banished them to Limbo for all eternity. That is, until the Darkness returned…"[1].
Following the trend from Prophetic Visions, Draconian Measures increased the largest single house rotation from the previous standard set, with only one house carrying over from Prophetic Visions this time.
New Set Mechanics
New Keyword: Entrench
Entrench is introduced in Draconian Measures. When a creature has the entrench keyword, the controller of that creature may choose to not ready that creature during their “ready card” phase. Typically, this would be done to take advantage of a specific beneficial effect that happens while that creature is exhausted.
New Term: Overwhelmed
Overwhelmed is added as a new glossary term, consolidating a concept from some previously released cards into a single word. While there are more enemy creatures than friendly creatures, a player is considered overwhelmed. Being overwhelmed has no inherent game effect, but it may be referenced by card abilities.
+1 Power Counter Enhancement
A new type of enhancement can result in a card being enhanced with a +1 power counter bonus icon. When this bonus icon resolves, the active player puts a +1 power counter on a creature in play.
